I can’t read your mind…

Mind-Reading-300x232You cannot read my mind.

You might misunderstand me, mishear me, hear what you prefer to hear, or hear what you’ve think I’ve said.

So I must speak with unmistakable clarity.

I cannot read your mind.

I can guess, follow false trails, be preoccupied with my own ideas, or be thinking of what I’m going to say that will shut you up.

So you must speak with unmistakable clarity.

Therefore, as you prep for this Sunday,

  • for the sake of the non-Christian who has never really understood the gospel…
  • for the sake of the wandering believer who needs to hear that they are being rebuked…
  • for the sake of a volunteer who is so willing, but keeps getting it wrong…
  • for the sake of an elder who hasn’t seen the issue under discussion…
  • for the sake of a young believer who needs to understand the implications of the gospel…
  • for the sake of the God who is the God of all truth…

don’t make us read your mind. We can’t do it.

Please plan to be be unmistakably clear.

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”a made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Cor. 4:1-6
