Every pastor I know is busy. Really busy. And because that busyness is focussed on other people, we assume that it’s good. We are giving ourselves away, aren’t we? Like we’re meant to?
But I see too many pastors where their home and family suffers. Their physical health suffers. Their spiritual health suffers. Their effectiveness for the gospel suffers.
Sometimes, tragically, their own faith suffers.
And the reason is often that they have been so busy giving out, giving themselves away, that they haven’t taken the time to check what’s going on inside them, and ask, ‘What am I supposed to be doing here, and how do I keep on keeping going for the long haul?’
So I’ve written an e-book for subscribing to my email list, here The Pastor’s Check-Up: The Top Ten Questions Every Pastor Needs to Answer (and helpful stuff if you can’t) is a pdf workbook of ten questions, for a spiritual and ministry check-up for pastors. Print it out, and ask yourself the questions honestly. Write stuff down if you wish. And maybe find a ministry running partner, and ask the questions of each other.
I hope you find it useful.
